Meeting Site
The Fall Meeting of the National Association of State Workforce Board Chairs will be held at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in the heart of Baltimore's Inner Harbor. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes (8 miles) from the Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), three miles from the Amtrak rail station at Penn Station, and approximately one hour (40 miles) from Washington DC.

The Renaissance, renovated in 1996, is connected to a five-story glass enclosed atrium mall as well as a skywalk from the hotel to the shops and restaurants at the Inner Harbor in
Baltimore. Guest rooms are equipped with in-room coffee machines and complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate; two-line telephones with dataport and voicemail; no telephone surcharge for 800 number, credit card or collect calls; iron, ironing boards, and hair dryers in each guest room; complimentary shoe shine service; 24-hour full menu room service; no charge for incoming faxes; in-house valet laundry; and complimentary morning newspaper delivered to each guest room. The hotel also has an indoor pool, health club, sauna and jacuzzi, and a rooftop garden.

Hotel Reservations
NGA has reserved a block of rooms at the hotel at the discounted rate of $126.00/single or double occupancy plus applicable taxes of 12.5 percent. This rate is available until 5:00 P.M. (EST) on Wednesday, November 25, 1998. After this date, the rate and availability cannot be guaranteed, and guest room rates will dramatically increase. To make your reservations, please call the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel directly at 1-800-535-1201 and request the NGA rate as quoted above. In order to guarantee a reservation for late arrival, the hotel requires one night's room and tax deposit or a major credit card

Check-in is 3:00 P.M. and check-out time is 12:00 noon. Early and/or late arrivals and check-outs will be handled on an individual basis, and every effort will be made to accommodate special requests.
Non-smoking or smoking rooms should be requested when making your reservation. The Renaissance will do its utmost to honor these requests, however, it is not possible to guarantee a specific room.

Transportation
From the Baltimore/Washington International Airport, the BWI SuperShuttle offers transportation to the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel at a cost of $11.00 one-way or $18.00 roundtrip. The shuttle leaves from the baggage claim area in the main terminal every 25 minutes from 5:45 A.M. until 11:15 P.M. Reservations are not required; the trip takes approximately 30 minutes.

The one-way taxi fare from BWI to the hotel is approximately $18.00-23.00 and takes about 20 minutes.

If you are driving, Overnight parking in the hotel for guests is $13.00 for self-parking or $17.00 for valet parking with in and out privileges.

Registration Fee. $150.00

Payment of Registration Fee. Please provide payment or a purchase order number with your registration, if possible. You are encouraged to register in advance of payment, if payment will delay your registration past November 30. If you request billing to your office, an administration charge of $25.00 will be assessed. Make checks payable to the National Governors' Association and return payment to:

Cancellation Policy and Refunds. Refunds of the registration fee will be provided for cancellations made in writing on or before December 5. However, they are subject to a $50 fee to cover administrative costs. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made after December 5, but substitutions are accepted at any time and at no additional charge.
